I was told I needed braces by a new dentist I went to. BRACES! Me?! I have the straightest teeth out of anyone I know. My old dentist even said they were perfect.

She was some fresh-out-of-college russian chick. Total nazi too. Never going back there. She forced me to book my next appointment, I did that, then cancelled two days before I had to go. Never to be seen there again.

And congrats on 13 years!

Well hey, happy 13th. Judging by the way my parents talk, it's not an easy year to reach.

As for the tooth extractions, I can relate... At age 16, I have never had a cavity, and yet I have had 8 teeth removed (I was born with a freakishly large amount of extras and such.) Of those, 3 had to be surgically removed as they were impacted, and I currently have a chain yanking down my impacted front tooth. So by this point, I'm pretty used to dental pain... the extractions aren't all that bad, after the Novocaine, but it is rather inconvenient to be missing five teeth. I'm just lucky that my parents have good dental insurance.

And, as Chrisntheboat mentioned... my week spent buzzed on Hydrocodone after my latest surgery was the most interesting in my life. I actually enjoyed stumbling around trying to dance to Cotton-Eyed Joe.

see, I'm notoriously big mouthed, I can fit a cue ball in my mouth and close it, so I have plenty of room for teeth. Unfortunately I also have a really good gag reflex as well and cannot always get the damn toothbrush to the back without gagging. Ah well.
I am also pretty phobic when it comes to dentists. When i was little, my parents worked at a residential facility for mentally and emotionally disturbed kids. They would bring a dentist in once a month for checkups and such....so if you didn't get there early, you got NO NOVACAINE. Sucks when you gotta be drilled!
Anyways hopefully a few can be saved via root canal, which is more painful but at least I'll still have them in my mouth.

sheesh, my wife got braces when we got married. They took out 6 teeth because she didn't have enough room, then after the braces came off she had like 6+ root canals. total cost was about 10 grand.
